The window of Fire is not scalable. Neither by clicking maximize or trying to drag borders. Any ideas?

The window should be scalable, but not necessarily maximizable -- when running the Standalone plugin unlicensed, or the Render Suite plugin in Demo mode, it will be restricted to a maximum of roughly 800 x 800 px. Does this accurately describe the behavior you're seeing there?

That might be it. I use commercial license now on my computer and I encounter that on a machine of a friend with a free version.

Thus it is not possible to have it maximized and have a 800x800px render in the middle, or to zoom in during render beyond 100%?

Yes, that's the case. It was requested I do that since when it is fit to the window, the image shown may be substantially different in size than the resolution actually being rendered.
