I get some questions about the Fire engine

I use sketchupmaxwell RS. When I Check Channels likeMaterial ID How can I get it to render inside Fire? Or Am I obliged to go to render studio?
And When in Studio is there a way to render at full resolution directe in studio. I think no, but Why isnt it possible as it is when in Sketchup?

The Maxwell Fire engine does not support render channels. If you have Maxwell Render Suite, it is intended that you would use Maxwell Render, not Maxwell Fire, for finished work. Maxwell Fire, in this case, is only intended as a tool for enhancing workflow.

Maxwell Fire in Studio is also not intended to be used for finished work -- to render at full resolution (the resolution defined in your camera), just click the Render button, to render in Maxwell Render, just as you would do in SketchUp, if rendering from there.

thanks JD

However IMO it would be a real improvement to get those options directly in Fire...because it is fully interactive. I got the same feeling with Modo preview window and fortunatly they did it in 601

You should consider it unlikely for features like that to be added to Fire, because they would cost precious CPU cycles (even just checking if something is enabled/disabled has a non-zero cost). Besides that, I really don't see the point of something like an interactive material ID channel -- what would you use it for, and how?

JD very often when I work from Sketchup I dont have time (patience) to go to maxwell studio... It's just tat I would like to get the most directly from SU.
I have to admitt I am no great fan of Maxwell UI... Perhaps I dont get time to be used to it.
My demand is obviouly not of first importance but it make things easier. I dont feel it must be a very hard addition (perhaps I am wrong?), but for end user as I am it can improve the workflow.

You don't need to go to Maxwell Studio to render material ID, just enable that channel in the Output page and then render by clicking the Render button. If you have Maxwell Render Suite, you should almost never use the Production engine option in the plugin's Maxwell Fire Settings. It is only included in the RS plugin, because it did not make sense to have it in the low-cost SA plugin, but leave it out of the more expensive RS one. So while the Production engine in Fire is the final render engine for the SA plugin, in the RS plugin, it is only a tool for more easily previewing how Maxwell Render will render the scene, when it makes sense to do that. For production output, you should always be rendering in Maxwell Render, not in Maxwell Fire. Besides supporting render channels, Maxwell Render also renders a bit faster than the Production engine in Maxwell Fire.

Sorry, but I can't really tell what I'm looking at there. Did you change the MXS file before resuming the render? To resume an MXI, the MXS it was originally rendered from needs to be present, and unchanged from when it was first rendered. I don't write the render engine, just the plugin, so unless I can identify a specific problem, all I can tell you is to post about the issue in the main Maxwell Render forum, or contact tech support from your portal account.

I just stopped trhe render

Perhaps I should reload the MXS too?
I will give it a try that way.
