Since installing 6.1.1 I have been unable to use Fire or any of the Maxwell export options (in the plug-in such as export to Studio and export to Maxwell Render). When I do, it is as though nothing is in the model, or as though I opened a new file and tried to render without adding any objects. If I hit Fire, I get the sky but not a single object. The same applies to the other export options using the Maxwell plugin. If I export to studio using the plugin the object list is empty, so it's not that the objects are off in space somewhere or something like that.

However, if I use Sketchup's export option under the File menu, I can export to mxs and it'll save correctly, then I can open it in Studio without any problems.

What gives?

This sounds like a version problem -- an earlier version of a library being unable to load data written by a later one. It could theoretically occur when different versions of plugin binaries are in place, where the exporter is writing one version, and the Maxwell Fire engine trying to load that data is a different one.

This shouldn't happen if you are using the installers, but to be sure, uninstall the plugin (use Add and Remove Programs if you are on Windows), then go to your SketchUp Plugins directory and manually ensure that maxwell.rb and the maxwell folder are gone. Lastly, delete the exporter library; on Windows, it is Skp2Mxs.dll in the SketchUp Exporters directory, while on OSX, it is Skp2Mxs.plugin, located inside of SketchUp.app itself (i.e. right-click SketchUp.app > Show Package Contents > browse to Contents > Plugins and delete Skp2Mxs.plugin).

So check that first and let me know if it helps.

Not sure if this applies but is related.

Sometimes when I hit Fire it will do as you say, render the sky and nothing else. But, if I hit the little reload/render button within the fire window it will load all objects correctly.

Also, sometime when I export to Maxwell or Studio it will not export, unless I hit Fire first. So, I hit Fire-it works, then I hit render or export to Studio, but I don't have to do this everytime.

This happens across all models that I've worked on so I don't think it is model or skp file specific.
