Arroway Textures. Since I'm creating new library of objects for Maxwell,I found
arroway textures to be far superior to anything else.Jason was kind enough to write conversion Skp to mxm of two arroway sets i have bought(concrete and wood floors). It was well worth investment, renderings do look convincing finally.
I am trying to do the same with wood textures. If anyone would be interested to share the cost of buying arroway wood textures for Jason to do conversion,it would be easier on budget.
Of course, then we have to buy our own sets .
I did contact Jason, and he's willing to do it.

btw...I'm using OS X and ,for me, automatic conversion from Skp to mxm doesnt work-meaning that Studio can not find hi-res textures automatically when I export Skp textured model to Studio. Not a big deal, I do it manually.Probably a Mac issue.
.....also Fire sometimes(most of the times) doesn't upgrade automatically...have to Stop-Start (refresh) as in older version....
thanks

If there is any Mac user who wants to convert the MXM materials and linked SketchUp materials (so I can distribute separate zip files for the Mac platform) I can give instructions... PM me.

There a few minor details to work out based on tester feedback and I will release the Arroway sets I have made already (minus the high-rez textures of course)... I haven't decided if I will do these on the Maxwell resources website or this forum simply due to ease of access to updating them as Maxwell is updated (I don't like my materials to go out of date).

BTW, Tony deserves all of the thanks for the upcoming Arroway "Concrete" and "Wood Floor" MXM/SKM sets since he paid for the texture to enable me to create the sets.

Best,
Jason.

It surprises me actually that reputable texture sites such as arroway don't provide ready to go shaders for all their materials suited most popular engines. I'm sure it wouldn't go unappreciated by their markets! Truthfully I think it is a big DUMB on their part.

It's a good point Richard, however it's alot of work to do these and keep them updated -- and there are many render engines (with more popping up every day).

Ideally I think this should be a Maxwell community project that stays internal to us so that we can always keep them updated and use the very best settings for our render engine -- but obviously any support towards such an effort by Arroway would be appreciated.

If such a scenario were to occur I (and I think all Maxwell users) would be happy to have those MXM/SKM materials shared with Arroway as well, so they could make sure even new users had the right tools.

Best,
Jason.

Recently there have been several threads related to Arroway textures, and I'm going to post this here, but it applies as the answer to alot of thoughts and questions surrounding the issue.

I have been given the ability to create the entire Arroway line as MXM materials (and linked SKM materials as well) -- what this means is that all you will need to do as the end-user is download my materials and purchase whatever texture sets you want from Arroway -- put them all in the folders I tell you, and you will have fully functioning texturing ability at the highest quality levels directly within SketchUp (via FIRE)... this effects all users of the SketchUp plugin in all forms (Stand Alone or Full Render Suite).

So I would start saving up to purchase some textures (if you don't have them already)... this process will likely take me about 5-6 weeks to complete, so you will have some time to wait before you can play anyway :D

However I will need the help of at least one Mac based SketchUp user -- in order to make sure the texture links are valid for the Mac platform each MXM will need to opened and saved while residing in the correct folder on a Mac system(nothing more should need to be done). Likewise each Sketchup material will need to have it's link updated and be saved back out... this is not hard to do but it is tedious and time consuming. It will require somebody who is detail oriented and precise in nature who is also patient, as any missed materials will cause problems for other Mac users. I will of course search for means of automating this as much as possible.

Is there any Mac user(s) who will volunteer their time for this project?

Best,
Jason.
