I just want to outline this situation where the FIRE refresh is very annoying and (as it seems to a user) unnecessary:
when previewing grass (in this case there is grass, sea, pretess displacement) and after FIRE started rendering i change the colour of a material unrelated to either of the mentioned pre-calculated objects, FIRE will still start over from the start.
i would really like to see an option for excluding certain heavy objects from refreshing.
I understand the "realtime" idea of fire, however, as we use it it is more a way to interactively preview the entire scene before sending jobs off to the network, and also to navigate and find views together with the client.
Still it would be great to be able to change basic aspects of materials without the need to recalculate all the special features.
