Seeing something I haven't experienced before.....
I have a model of a tire. Its made of 3 surfaces and a poly surface (2 side walls, a polysurface tread, and an inner wall that wraps around the wheel). The inside side wall, tread and inner wall all use the same material while the outer side wall has the same material with displacement for the Logo and markings. All materials have been applied by layer (however, i have tried assigning by object as well) and am seeing the following issue....
I am wanting to duplicate this tire 8 times in my model....
I select the tire components described above and "Block" them naming them after the tire model.
Test rendering at this point (simply after block creation) looks great...I see the displacement and the materials act as expected.
I select this block and copy. Copy from one alignment point to another on my c-plane.
Now I have two tires.
Test render at this point and suddenly there's no displacement.
I have tried inserting the block rather than copying it and am seeing the same result (no displacement).
Any ideas?
