Can i just put a good material on a plane to get good grass / wateR?

I tried most materials for grass and water in the material library but looks terrible.

Anyone know something I do not?

I have also seen the tutorial where many planes were copied..but that's too computational intense for rhino imo.

Thanks!

Hello Nappy,

Depending on the detail you need, you could use Bump, Normal Mapping or Displacement.

But if you need a high quality grass fibers, you may need to use a fur generator in your 3D modeling software, and convert it to triangles before launch it to Maxwell (at least in the first meters close to the camera. Far away you can replace it by bump mapping).

Let me know if this answers your question.

Best regards
