Hi Jeremy,

I'm trying to merge Maxwell toolbars with my Rhino toolbar collection in an attempt to limit Rhino's jumping bean toolbars problem.
But there's a silly problem occuring : some of your toolbars have the same name as Rhino's native ones, which gives strange results :
For example, the Maxwell "Tools" toolbar doesn't appear. If I try to open it from the Maxwell shortcuts toolbar, then it pops up the Rhino "Tools" toolbar.

Could this be improved ?
If Rhino toolbars were not flying all over the place like that, I wouldn't need to do this operation, but it seems like it's never going to happen any time soon :(

Cheers,

I suppose you'll have to manually create new ones with different names if you want to do that; I don't know how Rhino's internal rules work for toolbars with duplicate names. Or, you could just move, copy, or link from the buttons in the Maxwell toolbars to one of your Rhino toolbars.

With other plug-ins, I can just import the toolbars that I want from the plug-in's toolbar collection to my own toolbar collection.
Why couldn't it be that simple with the Maxwell plug-in ?

I guess I must not be understanding the problem. The Maxwell toolbars are just a .tb file like any other toolbar. If you can write down exactly what you're trying to do (I mean, step by step), then I'll try to do the same thing here and try to figure out what's going wrong.

Jeremy,

Just try importing the "Tools" and "Animation" toolbar from the Maxwell .tb, and you well get a message warning you that toolbars with that name already exists.
You get the choice of overwriting YES/NO.
If you choose yes, this will delete Rhino's toolbar, and if NO, it will call the newly imported "Tools 00" and "Animation 00".
There is a toolbar called "Render" in Rhino, but fortunately, you called yours "Rendering", so in that case, there is no conflict.
I would suggest that you gave a slightly different name to those two conflicting toolbars.

Cheers,

As far as I can tell, the only real problem you have here is that the Maxwell Shortcuts buttons bring up the wrong toolbars, since the Maxwell toolbars have been renamed during import. There are only six buttons in the shortcuts -- can you not just change their links to point to the renamed Maxwell toolbars? It only takes eight clicks to re-link both the Animation and Tools buttons to point to the new Animation 00 and Tools 00 toolbars.

I could rename these, but there are lots of existing installations out there, and that is potentially a mess...if we were in the early beta phase, I could see making the change, but I don't want to do it now, especially when it's so easy to fix.
