does motion blurring block instances not work? Or am I doing something wrong?
is this a limitation of rhino? so exploding should work...

while at it: there is a bug with the material wizard for car paint (if you change the color, it always turns out black)

cheers, kami

Yes, it's an engine limitation - instances are not compatible with motion blur. I'm not seeing any problem with the car paint wizard here, do you have any more details? What do you have Scene Manager > Options > User Interface > Color Picker set to?

It cannot be used with Maxwell instances. Therefore, it can be used with block instances, as long as you are not exporting them as Maxwell instances.

However, when I have "Instances" option unchecked in Output tab of scene manager, and I select a Rhino Block instance - and run the "Set initial positions for motion blur" button. Rhino responds that 0 objects has been set for motion blur. If I explode the block, it works fine.

How should I be using it?

Sorry, I forgot about that -- the properties page ignores blocks in this context, so while Maxwell could technically render motion blur for the block's mesh (since it will end up having one, when Options > Instances is turned off), you actually have no way of setting up the blur inside the plugin. So as you found, you will need to explode the block. Maybe I can change this in the future, but I can't say for sure without some investigation.
