What is the best way to tint a stock material a different hue? I am looking to take the diamond material and tint it yellow to look like a canary yellow diamond.

Hi Bert- You can't tint an .ior file any colour. You have to create your own diamond material... if you are looking at creating a canary diamond you can do that by researching the refractive index (2.417 at the wavelength of sodium light) and dispersion for diamond. The problem lies in the fact that Maxwell uses an Abbe number for dispersion which is different than most standard Gemmological texts.. so you have to do a bit of research to find the proper Abbe number.

I have a site that I use but need to restart my machine into a different operating system to access my other favourites list. I will post the site tomorrow.

So basically you have to create a new canary diamond material it is not perfect but I have gotten some o.k. results. Hope that helps and stay tuned :)
