Note that the bases and caps of the columns did not export, as well as the corner columns at the balustrade. All are polysurfaces (not instances). Normals are good...don't know what else to check, any help would be appreciated.

Did the plugin give any report? There are many different reasons why a mesh might be considered degenerate - during/after export, the plugin should:

a) select any objects bad objects
b) print an error summary in the cmd line
c) print an error report in the log viewer

You can use the command Maxwell_CheckFixAndReportBadGeometry to have the plugin scan the document without exporting, so try running that and seeing what gets reported.

got a pretty lengthy report...here is a pretty typical line.

Lines like that, where you get a detailed 'error={...}' report, are cases where Rhino itself has identified the object as faulty. I would try re-meshing the identified objects using different parameters (Object Properties > Object > Render Mesh Settings > Custom Mesh > Adjust).

ok thx. I'll go through the "bad objects" Rhino highlights and fix them and see how it goes then. BTW, here is a WIP to date

GTX260...still have to make extensive use of layers on/off to get around with my SpaceNav....so far ok. Will be more of an issue when I get all the roof tiles on, place on the site, and lastely add the 3d trees which is where the real test will come in. So far v5 much better with this issue than v4.

that actually did not take long to track the bad objects down...thought the MW command line was funny..."the geometry appears to be ok"... :lol: Most of them were corrected by using the Rhino Selbadobjects command, and then just a few more that Maxwell did not like. Looks like all is well for now, thx for the help.
