I used image based emitters on the iMac screens , ant the corresponding areas translate into alpha.
Is this a bug ?
I also noticed that all the meshes that had the same emitter material ended up as a single slider in multilight.
I had to create an emitter material per emitting mesh to get all the corresponding sliders...
Has the multilight logic changed ?

I can't really comment about the emitter vs. alpha question, because I don't know much about it; better to ask on the main Maxwell forum, or check/post in the bugs section. On the question of multilight logic, yes it changed in version 2.0 to avoid the need for people extracting render meshes and joining them, in order to control banks of lights with one slider. So, some people like the change, while others don't. I believe it's been proposed that a new switch be added to the emitter component itself which would control whether it behaves one way or the other.

My little report for those like me who like this part of the newsgroup better :) :
it is in fact a bug, but there is a work around : just add a BDSF to the material.
