I just bought some models from TurboSquid in C4D format. Box hedges. They render fine in C4D but not in Maxwell. The leaves are black instead of green. Looks like the texture TIFFs didn't load. But Console says all is OK. No warning of anything strange or missing.

In C4D prefs I set the path search to the folder containing the textures.

In another thread I noticed someone having problems rendering an XFrog plant, so I took a look. If I understood the reply to the original post, C4D sometimes has luminance channel enabled on materials, which Maxwell interprets as an emitter. I turned off the luminance on a few of the materials in C4D's material editor and the result was that the leaves rendered naturally - GREEN!!!

Many thanks!

Yes, unfortunately, if the plugin is to interpret the Luminance channel as meaning you want to create an emitter, then this will cause issues when someone creates a material that's not supposed to be an emitter. Which they might well do when working with some non-physical type renderer, so it's just something that you need to be aware of.

Hello,firstly Hello to all friends,I want to say something about this;
I am C4D user and beginner in Maxwell Render.
I think Maxwell Render support C4D material system sometimes.
Please check the sample picture,
Book's materials are not Maxwell Render materials,these are standard C4D materials and does not create problems in the Rendering.
but I can't understand some c4d materials involved in the problem...
Maybe it's affecting image format...
