I'm applying some MXMs made by Jason Maranto. Painted wall colours. The polygons turn a light purple, a bit like the colour of a normal map. Rendering works fine in Maxwell but in the VP it's purple. Any ideas?

Probably it is a normal map used by the material; in MXED, and in the plugin's material editor, you choose which of the material's textures, if any, is shown in the viewport, using a drop-down button found just below the material preview image. Here it is in the plugin's material editor (it's the "Set Active Texture" button):

If you are using an embedded material, then you would use the above, while if you are linking to an MXM, you would need to edit the MXM to set the active texture there. Please let me know if this clears it up.

That did the trick, thanks. But I had to delete the textures from the model first, reload the MXMs, edit the settings and reapply to the model. Then it cleared the purple colour.
Will there be a Maxwell Render 6 ?
