I'm trying to figure out how to get the new feature for blocking emitters to work in maya 2015. In the maxwell render sub-panel for objects there's a nice new button that says: block emitters. Exciting! But when I hit the button I get an error message: Error: no layer selected. I've tried creating a layer, putting the light in, selecting the layer, hitting the button, blah blah blah. No joy. Anybody get this to work? Let me know!

I'm not sure where that error message is coming from, because there's no need to put lights in layers. Does this happen in a simple scene where you have one mesh and one emitter? Which version of Maya are you using? Did you check if this still happens with the latest beta version of the plug-in? Can you tell me if you get any other errors in the script editor, before the "no layer selected" message?
