Hi

Is there a way to make the render farm help exporting the MXS files?
In larger scenes it can take up to 2 minutes each frame and when you got hundreds of frames it will take to long on one computer. And when you already ahve a farm with 15 computers just standing there, it makes you wonder if there is a way to do it?

The only way i know of, is sett the mxs output path and set low SL and time and send the job to network render. That works well enough, But it have to calculate and get the desired SL or time before moving on to the next frame. And when you have displacement in the scene it can calculate for some time before moving along.

So doing this with 15 computers but longer time each frame because of the calculations, it pritey much ends up equal to exporting from 1 computer.

Anny ideas?

PS: If this should have bin posted in the network section i'm sorry.

Best Regards!

ew, not the answer i was hoping for, but sure, its a possibility and would for sure save some time, at least on the larger shots.
But again, shouldn't this be a logical thing to add. I mean, its almost there, under the MXS output in render time. Just cancel the render after the mxs export, and move on.

That brings me to a another problem that i think i can put under these theme.
Exporting the scene to mxs trough

Files-export-mxs

is containing more information then

render setup- set mxs output - send job to deadline - render out the mxs's trough the slaves

If i now load the mxs from the manual one (File-export) inn to deadline manager, it renders perfectly, with all the passes and multilight.
If i then load the second mxs's that got rendered out by the slaves trough deadline, it renders with everything except the multilight information.

I have a feeling this is a Deadline thing, not knowing the information, so when it saves the mxs file it forgets it.
But I'm putting it out there, because at one point if the scenes are heavy and long lasting it will actually get time saving sending them to render and do it that way, just gotta remember, the multilight ain't gonna be there.
