I export fbx or dwg from Revit and import to MAX Des 2011 (mostly by linking them) and I have serious problems with my light fixtures... I have a spot with a multi-sub-obj mat (that's how it comes into Max) and when I assign an emitter to the lamp object I get a message from Maxwell that my spotlight is not an emitter but it has triangles with emitter material.
It is very important for me to solve this since I am not an experienced Max user and it would take much more to place new emitter objects for each spotlight.

You mean in Max! Nice idea but I don't think it can be done with a linked dwg, or a fbx...
