Thought to give 2016 a try, but when can we expect a plugin for the 2016 version?

Autodesk have said that all plugins and scripts that work in Max 2015 should work in 2016 also.
I haven't tested it, so don't take my word for it.

But in case your in a hurry, you can try that

...I was a bit distracted by the installer that only asked for the install locations of 3DS up to version 2015, but indeed setting the 2016 location did the trick.

I'll be testing it
