hi how do i set motion blur for a still in max/ maxwell

have set anim key and motion blur in max as standard but has no effect in maxwell render help please

The length of the motion blur trails is controlled by the shutter speed, as in a real camera. Either make sure the shutter is slow enough to show the motion blur (the default is 1/750, which is very fast and most likely won't show any blur), or check "use rotary shutter" and specify the shutter angle as in a film camera. The rotary shutter feature changes the shutter speed at export time and then adjusts the ISO to match the exposure you'd get with the original speed and ISO.

Also, if you have motion blur set to "per object" in the global render options, you have to set motion blur to "object" in the properties of each mesh for which you want motion blur. Alternatively, you can set motion blur to "on" in the render options, which will force motion blur on all the objects in the scene.
