Re: Material editor glich

Hello Aleksey, If I'm not wrong, one of the reasons to keep the old nodes in the editor is that the plugin is not able to know if the nodes are connected to another material, so we could be deleting maps, BSDFs or layers of other materials. We will try to check if there's an easy way to evaluate tho...

Re: Maxwell V4 rendring is 4.5 times slower than V3,

I would try deactivating NUMA support in BIOS. We have had some cases with computers with many cores that suffered from this issue too and NUMA was the key. NUMA is supposed to deal with how memory is handled to the different cores but it seems it doesn't work well with Maxwell. Once deactivated, th...

Re: spray of water

Hello, What I meant is simulating the splash with a fluid simulator and then get the mesh or particles into Maxwell to render them, as Maxwell does not generate fluid simulations. It can be static, of course. Regarding outdoor renders, around 80% of my jobs as freelance were outdoor scenes and were ...

Re: spray of water

I think you would need to create a particle simulation with some software like Realflow, for example, and then render them as particles and/or volumetrics.

Re: Material editor glich

Hello Aleksey,

If you select the material node you will see on the right the Maxwell Material tree panel with all the details (like in compact mode). The preview button is highlighted in red in the attachment:

I hope this helps.

Have a nice weekend!

Re: Material editor glich

Hello Aleksey, If you want to get a preview from Maxwell you have to click the most to the right button below the layer structure. You can also make it refresh automatically (in Preferences > Maxwell tab) but I'm afraid it doesn't work as well as expected, as it lags a bit. We'll try to improve this...

Nice Seghier!

The honey looks a bit stiff, like solid caramel though. The strawberries look very nice.

Re: lighting strategy for lantern

Using the geometry of the glass should be fine.

You could also mask it a bit to give the look that the bulb doesn't illuminate the whole glass so uniformly or use a texture to give a similar effect.

Cheers!

Re: Whis is the difference in add-on, plug-in, integrations, and Connection ?

Hello Steve, In the case of Maxwell, all of them are basically the same thing. In the case of ArchiCAD ecosystem, people are used to the term "Add-on" when referring to a plugin or any program that adds functionality to ArchiCAD. Traditionally we have used the term "Plugin" when referring to the sof...

Re: Enable whitecaps?

Hmm, I'm not sure why is that option in the plugin for Max, as in Studio there's no such option. My guess is that as this shares code with Realflow's Realwave, the plugin developer may have found something related to whitecaps in it and decided to add that option, but it is not working for Maxwell. ...
