#90607
There appears to be some problem with loading in objects from a .lwo file (created in modo):

Test 1:
I created a simple .lwo file using modo consisting of 4 separate named objects.

Result 1:
When importing a .lwo file all the individual objects load as a single mesh.

Test 2:
I separated the objects from test 1 into different layers prior to exporting as .lwo

Result 2:
Only the object in the first layer was imported.

Workaround: Exporting the geometry as .obj can be used resolved this issue in the short term.

I have found that it is necessary to use the Lightwave plugin (updated for RC1) in Layout to create a .mxs file that is then opened in Studio.

Objects must be separated by texture if you want to preserve your material assignments made in modelling your object.

This is a problem... I cannot figure out how to import a geometry driven layer structure that still preserves model texturing...

I don't want to break my geometry this way!

the first time you assign a material to a layer you lose the imported material list...

I can't drag and drop from the material list onto the material name listed in the expanded Object list... only onto the top level of the layer.
