Hi!
i try to render with '100% IBL' a project.
i use SKIESV2_12.hdr, but shadows don't result clear as it should be.
As you can see, the HDRI contains a clear sky with full sun disc.
May be HDRI wrong? Sun disc powerless?
I try with others HDRI, but i don't reach the sun shadows sharpness that i saw in old "maxwell 2.0 preview site".
Any hint?

ok, did it manually:

- opened hdri with photoshop
- elliptical selection on disc sun
- set exposure of selection to +8 (it's too much in this case you can see below)
- saved file (with ohter namefile :) )

Nice.

Thank you!

i'm playing now with exposure settings, sun disc size, feather of exposure-area edges .... and i'm obtaining good results, as sun behind very light clouds and so on...

Value of sun disc overexposure is often between +3 and +6. (depends on content of hdr.. it is all relative)

A little note: the images posted here are a small part of a new hospital i'm working on. (and i'm far away to complete this building...)
And ...when i die, i'll probably lie in the morgue of this one :)

These look really good...I'm just starting to use hdri's and would like to learn more...hence I'll venture a stupid question  Are you using the IBL under the environment tab or selecting "none" there and then applying this map to a curved plane in order to get the sun to come all the way from the right. If the IBL under the environment tab is used, doesn't Maxwell use a frontal projection on that image, hence it would not be possible to get the sun to come from the side??? Joe

Joe, you can control the placement of the hdri in the environment with the offset (and scale).

Ok thx, I see how that can move the sun.
