When trying to merge a couple of renders I get the following error "....will be ignored during the merging porcess. It is only an image, it does not contain the necessary merging data."

I am trying to merge two .mxi files both with -ml information embedded. I have checked both files and they read OK individually (multilights work on both images) but are not able to merge. I've done this process many times with v 1.0 with no problems. Anyone with answers? Thanks.
