first one took about a couple of hours to get to sl 14 on a P4 3,2 2 gigs ram (1 emitter+mxi texture), second one about 17 hours and reached sl 17 at 1200x799 on the same machine (one emitter very well smoothed with quite a few polys).

hey, thanks pedro (even though i really doubt i'm qualified to be a master). the carpet was first made with ornatrix then converted to mesh so that maxwell could render it (it didn't turn out that well, but the mesh was getting heavy so i just gave up adding hair).

But... the lat pic, looks CG... also that carpet doesn't look right. Something about the hair on it .

Well you are on a good track though.
If the fur on that carpet is improved and the grain on the wallpaper is made smaller (but still visible, not gone)... the image should be pretty good.

Great chair, perfect materials. I think if you just make the "hair" on the carpet much thicker and a little shorter it will look ok. Right now it looks balding

had to model these two lamps for a job, so a played around a bit with the beta:
