And, is plastic material not a multilayer material too?
Yes, it is necessary and we know that the materials will become more complex in the 1.0 Maxwell release.

Given this information, why don't you wait until the 1.0 release and then complain afterwards if need be ? In other words, this topic shouldn't even exist at this time.
We get no infos from NL and NL says at the homepage, Maxwell based on physical models. At the moment it is not true. So I try to push the developing in a more realistic direction.

I have the feeling, so much user are crying for displacement and other new features, but the current features should be finished befor. A simple answer like "we know this effects and it will be implemented in the final" could be the easy answer. But the posts from Tom show me nescience on this subject. He represent NL here and show weak plastics renderings as metal. If he only would say somethin like "we are talking about it in the developing team" than I would feel better. But the most answers are, my wish for better materials is wrong here.

I think NL team must be pretty sure of what will be delivered with version 1.0, because they wouldn't act like this... 8)

yeah no problem.... I am just very scared to face my first node base surfacing tool.... I bet it is veryyyyy different from surfacing in LW... I just hope it is not going to be too complex.....
