I used to play a bit of guitar and mostly drums when I was 17..18.. in 1977.... the Sex Pistols year... Man prior that date te music was so full of.... and then I heard "New Rose" from The Damned.. and my whole life changed.. 8)

It was so unique at that time... I mean all the music you could hear wa made by old folks with long hair smoking marijuana.... hahah..

anyway (I am so Prolixe..hehe) we bought the little one at a garage sale...

For ma The tele's have a gling gling sound.. while the Lespaul is truly Rock'n'Roll.. :D

Here's a baritone Weisenborn lap guitar I designed and had built by Rance White of Lazy River Guitars.
Actually the first baritone Weisenborn ever built.
The pic shows the baritone on the left compared to a standard Weisenborn.
The baritone is a full 30" scale length.
When it's played it vibrates the house and sounds more like a grand piano.

Hi Glebe,

Thanks, it really is a beautiful sounding guitar.
I use open D on all my lap guitars. From low to high, D A D F# A D.
I really like the 151351 configuration and it works for pretty much any style of music.
The baritone Weiss uses the open D form but way down in A. It's string gauges are whoppers...90-68-48-32-26-18.
When you play it your lower torso actually vibrates. I consider it to be the cello of guitars.

No kidding about the piano characterization, I heard shades of that great old piano transition from a day in the life in that last chord...squeeze that onto tape through some old urei...you'd end up in a pretty similar place if you wanted to.

Starcaster update: Nope. Kind of brings a little pain to think about it. For the moment, this bloke somehow ended up with it. I'm waiting for the universe to rotate it into my hands. lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swqYvSrW5_M (4:30).

The tequilla cover rocked .... ;) ....and now I'm bringing out the gimp. lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0hsykMK ... =quicklist

pics of the axe, forthcoming. JD's pics were too cool so I had to rethink before posting.

Yah, but does it have one of these:

I have to assume there was a 'C' there at some point in time, but this is how I bought it...from the ax-man.

Ah! So that's how to get a vintage tone JD..... 8) .....just roll back the pot and the years drop away!.........any fancy electrics required 'under the hood' ?

Mine is currently wired-up '1953' style......with the exception of that toggle.......but with the big-drop caps & large cts pots it's awfully cramped in that korean cavity.....

I saw/heard this clip and just HAD to have that blend tone........the front pup on mine is hidden below the pickguard, so really it's a fake esquire in more ways than one.
