15 mins to setup the render/camera/materials/cord and 1hour 20min for rendering (sampling level 9.10) on a p4 2.80 GHz with Hyperthreading and 1Gb ram.

I didn't add any fillets so not too many nice highlights here...

To bad it doesn't apply decal bump maps yet.

Thanks!

For those willing to try it out, you may get the file here...
What you show and what you give are not same objects. Why?
I ask this question because the final impression is affected by
hard edges of the simple object you provide.
Or maybe they must fillet several edges before rendering. ;)
(I can see Thomas An. already did...)

Yeah, most of my 10min was spent filleting the back ridges of the cable guard and the front edge. Some of the surfaces back there were not good (they were not joined properly) so I had to delete them and reconstruct them.

If it wasn't for this clean-up operation, the prep time was really 2minutes because I used a template studio setup that I have for other objects of this kind.

Yes, i noticed as well ---- (and Thomas, that must be the engineer within  ) because i just threw it in the oven and turned it on high. :)

.....and Tom, isn't it obvious? he just gave us a rough draft.

From what I understand, UV mapping will depend on Rhino's capabilities, not Maxwell's. RMA has said that they plan to release a bonus tool for Rhino that does UV mapping. I don't know if that will be soon or not.

Actually, Flamingo can even do a little better than that. (Sorry, mrking)
