whiskey, a final suggestion, I set up two sata drives in raid 0 and it really boosts overall system performance, not for rendering but for working in general, everything opens in seconds, huge files load in seconds...really nice
I got 2 seagate drives series 7200.8, 250g each so now I have one huge 500g drive I don't know what to do fill it with.....

Just render a maxwell animation and you'll need some space.


Btw: My Laptop (Pentium M 1.6GHz) seems to be faster than my 3GHz P4 with Hyperthreading. Can this be possible?
If I render the same scene on both of them the laptop is faster by a few seconds for the first 5-6 SL and getting faster. How is this possible?

P4: 3Ghz 2GB pc3200 RAM CL2.5, WinXP Pro

Laptop: 1.6GHz Pentium M, 512MB RAM, WinXP Pro
