Hi!

I just tested M~R Performance on using threads

These are the results:
04 Threads: 3:19:59 SL: 15.11
08 Threads: 3:19:57 SL: 15.12
16 Threads: 3:20:07 SL: 15.24

Speed enhancements:
16t / 02t = +0,25%
16t / 04t = +0,03%

This is not tooo much :)

About the Scene:
Geometry:
Num Meshes: 5
Num Triangles: 1577570
Num Vertexes: 822912
Num Normals: 1940950

Materials:
Num Emitters: 2
Num Diffuse: 0
Num Metals: 1
Num Plastics: 1
Num Dielectrics: 1

Bitmaps:
Num Bitmaps: 3


I Used a big MXI emitter sphere all around the objects.
No SSS used here

That info is not of much help if you don't tell us the details of the system.

Yes, I used System configuration as seen in my signature:

Dual Xeon 2.8 Ghz with EM64T & HT (800Mhz fsb)
4GB DDR2-RAM
Lightwave 7.5d
WinXP Pro


The reason of this thread is the post of andronikos916 telling that more threads would increase speed even with a dual xeon:

But it seems like this is not applicable to this version of M~R (beta 1.2.2a)
