how about the G5 results? do i understand correctly that the rendertimes in the logs have to be halved for two processors?

i am a little pist off at the results because i was deciding wether to get the dual xeons or dual amd 250's, i think i sould of spent the extra cash for the 250's

i saw some xeon results in this thread, but i can´t find them in the graphs on page 1,
so can anybody tell me if a dual opteron 248 renders faster than a dual xeon 3,2 ?

want to buy one, and don´t know which one...

look at page 4, xeon 3.2 render in 43mn 27sec
and the biopteron 248 in 38mn 4Osec

could sound little but do the math in hours of render and make your choice,

...Imagine waht this beast will render maxwell like!

...my future dream PC! (one day)

http://www.tyan.com/products/html/m4881.html

Tyan Thunder K8QW (S4881) and M4881 - Processor Expansion Board (for S4881)

8 x Dual Core Opterons 875 = 16 Cores!
64mb DDR
...etc.

I know that boxx at Sigraph demonrtated Lightwave Rendering with 8 cores I will do it for Maxwell with 16 cores!

I want that for Maxwell!

hehe!

Andronikos
:D

only 1518 with 8 dualcore in cinebench? while the dual core biopteron 275 is around 1200...?
sounds odd...

I agree the 1500 score is not that much. My Dual Xeon OC@3.2 scores around 700. So I expected to see a 3000+ score. Maybe that scene is not heavy any more... don't know.

Also c4d is Intel optimized and loves HT.

Since Maxwell seems to like both the same you will see a huge difference with that System.

my little P4 tops around 256
sure i'd like some of those beast to work with maxwell, currently it seems that for producion i'll have to wait at least 20 to 40 hours for demanding render....

hi all,

i´d like to benchmark my system but i´m not shure if there is any comparison possible now, as most of these benches were made with version 1.1.33 and now its 1_2_2_beta.. :?:
can i just take the old scene and render?

thanks for your answers.

by the way these are 4 Dual Cores = 8 cpus.

ok so at least we could had expected 2200CB at least with 8cpus versus 4...

Now witness the power of this FULLY OPERATIONAL BATTLE STATION!!!

With 1.22a so I don't know how these scores relate to 1.33:

48m 36s sl 15.28

X2 3800 oc to 2.4 (equivalent to 4800)
Win2K SP4
2 gigs ram

Not bad, it's seems equal to a 3.6GHZ dual Xeon machine. I think i'll overclock it a bit more :)

I think Robert used 1.22a as well? Otherwise it's strange that a dual 3.2 Xeon system is 10 minutes faster than a 3.6 system.

I guess it has to do with the bounce control in the previous betas....
