Those are sampled independent of the color channel. This is not much worth discussing yet; it may be viable to modify the sampled density grid according to the sampled A color value, or it may be that TFD takes care of that internally -- I don't yet know, so any discussion is just speculation.

Well I just wanted to stretch how important it will be to be able to modify/translate these values to Maxwell as well;)

I am confident you will figure it out. Other renderers are successfully supporting this already.
