i think it says that you can scale your model in Maxwell, not that you have to do it if not needed/wanted.

hm ... says :

This specifies how much one 3DStudio Max unit represent into
Maxwell Render.

Mine is 1 decimeter = maxwell general scale of 0.1

or am i thinking wrong ?

only if you want render your model 10 times smaller than it is build in max i think.
