nice video,

what does it show exactly though ? please excuse my ignorance I've never had the pleasure of using real flow . Do I take it that those render times are a lot faster than before for a similar scene in V2? I noticed that it was also on a real sweet machine 24 cores ( I want and wish I could afford).

I suppose tomorrow will answer a lot !!

For anyone wondering about the Gnomon presentation -- we hadn't been asked (to my knowledge) not to discuss it but I wanted to hold back until after Mihai's webinar. The Gnomon presentation covered largely the same features, but it also discussed RealFlow as well, so if you saw today's webinar, Mihai was able to focus on Maxwell alone and so was able to present his material in a little more detail on the Maxwell side.

If you missed today's webinar, they post them online.

Thank You Mihai and to all of guys for nice and detailed webinar. I think this webinar will be soon on youtube. Maxwellrender V3 will be very nice upgrade with all those new features. Volumetric, projector light and back face material are the most awaited and valued for me. Looking forward to this new release. Once again Thank You :wink: .

Mihai did a good job, but personally I'm pretty disappointed with the promised upgrade. To me this is more like a point upgrade than a full blown release.

The one area that would make me jump at the upgrade would be real speed increases. Not fixing stuff like the additive noise issue or adding very narrow plugins like the sea (without foam it will be hard to recreate believable sea environments anyway), nor elements that really should have been in the renderer for some time, like procedural shaders and two-sided materials.

Even a small but infinitely helpful enhancement like rotating material preview objects for viewing uv-mapped textures is missing.

Edit: The render time subdivision and rounded edge functions were nice though!

I didn't catch any insight on the caustics behind glass issue? Any improvements there?

I love the volumetrics feature, hope its not rendering too long;)
