Hi

I just started using IES files for lights. I added them to an emitter and added that material to a spotlight to control the direction. So far so good.

But I'm curious on how the intensity of the light is governed?

Changing the luminance in either power or watts does not seems to affect the intensity. Reading the manual is says the intensity is defined in the file and can be multiplied in maxwell. The file reads 3400 lumen, but if I open the IES in notepad and change it, no changes are made to the render intensity. I can use the multiplier in Rhino material manager, that works but I'm just curious on how this works.

Regards

Really, since it's Maxwell that reads the file, you probably know more about the subject than I do.
