eric, thanks for your critical input. it is very much appreciated. i'm a bit confused about you mentioning the booleaned cavity though? i havent used boolean operation in a long while for geometry, but my guess is you are suggesting creating interior cavities that portray interior light in a more relevant fashion? if so, i support this method 110% opposed to the hack i posted earler. the example you posted looks great! curious to know exactly how you set this up in order to offer more dialogue on this illumination method here. i think it would be good for others, as well as myself, to see how this was accomplished so successfully.

andre, thanks! i have another project that i'm planning to use maxwell for which i'm hoping to post progress on soon which i'd like to test out a few new things i've been testing in spare time.

Hi, About the cavity thing, its very simple.

I just mean remove the partition walls and anything else thats in the way at skirting board height, that way you can put a big mxi emitter across large areas of the building which uplight the rooms but its efficient because maxwell doesnt have to find tiny emitters.

This assumes you cant see that floor area in the render (cameras looking upwards)

thanks, Fernando.

regarding clouds, pulled this image from web: http://dinnerwithjulie.com/wp-content/u ... -sky-1.jpg

google either "big clouds" or "cumulus clouds" or "big cumulus clouds" ..... there's tons out there similar to this, a lot of them higher res than this.

by the way, we've had some very nice large cumulus clouds around here lately which inspired the search. have been eager to shoot them for stock to add to library but haven't been able to find a location nearby high enough to get the right shot and haven't had time to drive out of town for open field shots.

Won't the client say they look too menacing? :)
It's a very nice render, but I hope you have time also for the wacky creative stuff which is always a treat to see....
