So Sketchup has been acquired by Trimble. Would this in any way have an effect on the Maxwell Sketchup relationship for good or better ?

I, for one, wouldn't mind a happy medium - somewhere in between Google's under-funded effort and an Autodesk cash grab. Modo seems to have a nice model (as does Maxwell on the renderings side of things). They've got a well funded product at a reasonable price and only release major updates when the software has major updates.
