I exported some hair/fur from 3ds Max into Studio. Can I edit the color without having to go back to 3ds Max and re-export?

It's all done with the textures in the hair material and deciding which UV channel to use (UV 0 for root to tip colors, UV 1 for root colors).

Edit: or solid colors if you like.
