this project is completed, but i just need to know why and how to solve it if another such project comes again.
See below (sorry i can't show full pictures of it). Is about coins being containd in an object made of acrylic.

In the image, there are 3 visuals (Visual 1, 2 and 3) and each visual there are 2 cropped areas from the same render.
1) Visual 1 (Area A and B): Is actually test render, to determine how much refraction i need so the details can be seen. At a stage when im comfortable with the overall especially the larger area, but the details in most area cant be seen. So i procced to another refraction (Nd)
1) Visual 2 (Area A and B): Is actually another test render using a higher refraction (Nd), So as to bring out the other details but it results in a pretty messy refractions or reflections around. But overall there are details that i will like it to have. So after many attempts., i have one final render where there are messy renders going around.
1) Visual 3 (Area A and B): The is the final render and after some compoisiting is done, messy area were removed while the details were maintained.

Now my questions are. Why such messy renders came about? What can be done?

My model is modeled in a way that outer is one shape, inner is another. Theres no joint objects nor the inner is subtracted/cut.

Think will be good that i set an example (See below), but this example has lesser problems as there are much lesser angled objects and lesser details going around. but it might troubleshoot the main problem. : ))

Questions are,
1) Does the inner of the glass (A) be subtracted from (B) thus making the glass as 1 piece object? Or they are 2 different objects just different sizes with gap (C) in bettwen will do?
2) If they are 2 different objects, do they hold the same material?

Note sure if this example brought up is good, if not we can always fall back to the very first one that was done before.

so this one mesh is only applied to the hour glass? How about the first one because some area are a mesh but yet the renders are pretty messy. Or is because the area without being a mesh affects the rest?

It's really difficult to understand what's going on in that first image so I can't tell what's wrong with it or what it's supposed to look like. Maybe some wire frames, diagrams or a photo of what you're going for would help?

What is the correct index of refraction for the type of material? You should start there. Also, tiny radii on the edges can help the realism, along with imperfections such as slight curvature instead of perfectly straight lines. Dispersion can also make a huge difference in realism, but also in render time...

For glass/clear plastic types of materials, Maxwell needs a closed mesh for correct refraction.

Hi, sorry for the late reply.

Hope this speaks more clearly. I screen captured the wireframes to show how the object is modeled (Small edge bevel is added to achieve the slight hint of highlights). Inner area is actually another object, i tried subtracting out from the Outer object but it results in "complicated" shape (i think i tried texturing before deciding using 2 pieces). Windows on the outer object is joint with it (Not added on) so is a piece. As for texture wise, i tried the default settings of glass and even some ior given, in the end i chose water as the textures and change the Nd to achieve what i want. HDR is used in the lightings.

Second image (Googled) is what i hope to achieve in terms of the reflections/refractions feel and against white instead of dark.

On the earlier image i attached, u can see that the thickess (Visual 2) rendered out to be very messy, but it does bring out the smaller details (Edges, highlights etc). I did a box to test before building this final shape, it turns out well even as 2 pieces objects. So just wonder why this current one turned out to be this way. : (

what are you talking about..? there must be no inside or outside object.. just model it like the real thing you're showing in the photo.. I see the small house is made of individual panels.. just make the same panels and assemble them.. make sure none are intersecting, and leave a tiny gap between them.. voila..

what is it made of..? acrylic..? Glass..?

Ya, I agree with Herve. Your problem is this whole inside object, outside object thing. You'll need to model it as you'd actually construct it. That means each side of the roof should be it's own panel for one thing. You might want to leave a very small gap between the panels though so they don't actually touch which would result in overlapping planes.

ok, what you meant is example, roof is just a piece, wall if there are 4 sided it will be 4 pieces, base will be a piece and eventually i will place them edge by edge (with small gap in between), side by side and form the actual shape?
