Hi, when I click on an object/camera in maxwell, I want to be able to know its real world coordinates in the object parameters window. Is this possible?

Thanks

They are already in the corresponding panels; Object Parameters for objects, Camera Parameters for cameras.

I'm assuming you are asking about Studio -- are you looking to get the longitude and latitude coordinates? If so I think you'll have to do the math yourself -- the origin (axes) is located at the the longitude and latitude you specify in the physical sky (environment >location parameters).

From there you can measure the meters to your objects from the origin and do the math.

Best,
Jason.

Hi thanks for the replies.
What I maybe didn't explain clearly is that these parameters are not working.
I want to position the maxwell camera precisely on a node imported from my modelling programme (formz). I know the x,y,z coordinates of the node from my modelling programme data, so I've used these figures and typed them into the camera parameters in Maxwell studio, this hasn't however resulted in the camera sitting on the node. (or anywhere near it)
I also observed that the x and z camera coordinates weren't changing when I moved the camera, only the target distance and the height.

Are the coordinates you're getting from FormZ specified in meters? You may need to convert them to meters for Studio. Is the coordinate system in FormZ the same as the one used in Studio, meaning, do X, Y, and Z mean the same thing in both apps? You may need to transpose them.

Yes, I have the formz file set to metres and the coordinate system is the same too.
What I have now realised however, is that Maxwell seems to have a limited numeric space, and I have run out of decimal places with the coordinates I want to imput; 541,498m (maxwell will not allow me more than 54,149 m)
Does anyone know of a way round this, apart from re positioning my model?
