Hehe yea the SL was horribly low, only 100! no wonder the smoke is so noisy. And i had to keep the particlecount low to render these shots fast. Next time i will use Maxwell and Realflow instead.

Seriously, I doubt they can be particles of pure smoke but something else. Maybe about the candle wax?

I don't think it's from the wax itself, more likely they originate from the wick as it burns. I will upload a 100% crop so you can have a closer look at it..

Thanks guys i will make a better series later on, after Christmas sometimes..because i wanna play with Maxwell now. But later on it will be with a new setup and all that. These tests were shot at f2,8 so the dof is too narrow to be good, it clips off so much of the smokeparticles, next batch will be in the range of f/8 or f/11 so get more particles in focus. It should be much better looking (i hope).

Thanks sampson then there are two of us who have never seem candlesmoke in such detail before, i thought it was just your average smoke and nothing special to it but a macro revealed so much more..

I spent almost all day long cooking and grilling my two kilo Christmas ham and here is the final result so much SSS and displacement here it required many many hours..
A few more days until it can be consumed, on the 24th.
