Hello frosty_ramen:
There could be a couple of reasons for getting this error:
A) One or more of your computers may have more than one network cards. If you have a regular NIC card plus a wireless card it can be definitely a clue.
If a computer has a double connection (NIC plus the wireless), it internally has two different IP.
So, the license system recognizes two different IPs pear each computer, interpreting it as two different computers.
So the license system thinks that Maxwell is being used on more than 4 computers, and is displays the "maximum number of licenses reached" message.
To avoid any kind of problems related to this, each computer must be connected just by one way (NIC or wireless) to avoid assigning several IPs to the same computer.
Could you make a test by completely removing one of the redundant network cards on each computer?
B) One or more of your computers have a different license file, so the licensing system gets confused and displays the error message.
Please check that you' pasted the correct license info on all your computers.
If the problem persists, Maxwell 2.5 has a new debug information, that is displayed in the Maxwell Console panel.
Launch Maxwell.exe normally and render any scene in your network using the following command flag:
-v:debug
in the command line field.
It will display any licensing information.
Once you get the "maximum number of licenses reached" message, please copy the while text displayed on the Console panel and send it to our Techinical Support Department.
This will help us to figure out what is failing.
Keep me informed about the evolution of this issue.
