I'd suggest they may be waiting till the plugins are bought up to speed. That sought of makes sense as some are left fairly disappointed when left out of the loop.

My gut feeling though is Monday, yep that will be the day - sure of it! Though I said that about 5 moday's ago! :(

Okay now, let's try to keep things in perspective. At Siggraph time, the hope was that it would be ready in the September time frame. Well, we're a whole seven days beyond that now. So there's no need for this ridiculous hand-wringing and speculation -- this type of work simply does not lend itself well to strict schedules. If a feature is delayed, the purpose of that is not to torture you; it just means that we don't think it's totally ready yet.

Personally, I'd prefer never to reveal anything at all until it's already been finished. But that's just me.

probably wouldn't be bad to release the studio realtime first and then develop it into plugins as updates..(i dont even know how it would work via plugins as m~x~r is seperat app and window-- they may never do it via plugins)

Mate I'd be surprised if they don't (not expected though) - shaderlight actually interacts directly with SketchUp, as you move the camera or objects in scene it keeps auto updating.

Maybe, but don't compare Sketchup with Max or Maya... or Shaderlight with Maxwell...
I really hope we can work with RealTime from inside Max, but I find it a little difficult.

Why?. ChaosGroup has demonstrated this is perfectly possible with Vray Rt, even in the visor. And Softimage has another point for get it working in their visor through is visor rendering. Maya... well, Maya perhaps would need a new window.

Why not? They are all 3d apps! If any have limitations they probably start with SU!

BTW shaderlight does function on a separate window!
