UNS metals. There are plenty on lightworks lwa site but obviously they would be more usefull as Maxwell materials. Alternatively any tips on how to port them to Maxwell would be just as useful.

Since light seems to enter from one side of a lump and make its way somewhat to the other side I winder if SSS would somehow be in the mix.

Any updates about this topic?

'' Which ones are the best settings for "Acid Etched" glass (the one used for table tops or door panels)? I tryed the generic frosties or starting from regular glass adding roughness and I can't get the proper "glow", it always look "dead". Do I need to go with an SSS?
How about "3form" panels with frosted plastic (http://www.3-form.com/materials-chroma.php; http://www.3-form.com/materials-varia-organics.php)? ''

I am interrested in creating '3d' materials> a object in molded acryl.

Have you tried a bump or displacement texture? a very very fine texture might carry the light intensity through but still sufficiently diffuse the reflections and refractions..
I have not tried this personally but I have found tiny sub-pixel bump textures to react accurately in maxwell.

That's a good question :) I would love to have it back too .. and it would be great if it would be either curated or open - to allow users to share their materials - so that we can grow the library.
Yep, looking for the material library as well - is it gone for good ?

No it doesn't.
There are plenty of freely available materials online and material wizard that is embedded inside MXM is pretty powerful to create base of lot's of materials.
Honestly - Material wizard in Maxwell is unlike similar initiatives in other render engines - it is on of those underrated features that NextLimit is shy promoting (not sure why though - huge time-saver).
It can create base structure of very wide range of materials.
Bundle it with free textures from 🤔
https://cc0textures.com
or
https://texturehaven.com/textures/
https://www.sharetextures.com/textures/
or dozens of other similar resources .. not even mentioning hidden gem - https://share.substance3d.com - with free SBSARs and so much more (supported by community)

and you got pretty any material you need.

Honestly Material library is definitely a great idea - but I, personally, think that it should be curated and open for users to share their material creations - so that we can organically grow it (instead of having thousands of coloured plastic from RAL collections  )

Cheers

I hope it is and will be back soon. I was hinting to folks from next limit that we can maybe create an open library - like it used to be before. where users can submit their materials they are willing to share with community. Obviously it should be moderated - but even that is manageable - I'm quite certain some folks from this forum wouldn't mind giving a hand on that and supervise it when they have a spare minute or two.
Will there be a Maxwell Render 6 ?

Let's be realistic. What's left of NL is only milk[…]
