Well, concrete, carpet... what's the difference... I tried adding a little sheen using a spec map, but every setting turned out looking like plastic. I think at this macro level the carpet has to be very high roughness. If it was an extreme close-up, it would definitely need more.

Teabag: Thanks :)

Hervé: Thanks :)

I just started sketching some ideas for the new MXM Challenge, the stacked layers one NL is arranging now. Here's my first experiment using stacked layers in 2.0, it's still a early wip and far from finished and i'm probably a idiot for posting it here but i don't care. :D

Teabag: Thank you very much  it was my first try at real stacking.

rusteberg: Hehe i definately need that now, that's why i joined the challenge with hope that i might just get lucky.. :) thanks!

Brodie: Thanks! :) it's inspired by the Nanosuite from Crysis. Mine is my own interpetation of what a suite like that could look like in a closeup.

Thanks alexxx, max, and teabag! Since the bump seems to work much better in 2, I think it's allowing for much nicer brushed metals (which I'm still working on)

Max that material is incredible. I'm going to download it so I can see how you did it.
Thanks!
