tom: the inside vase pic is super surreal~! what a cool perspective too.. i dont think ive ever seen any photos/renders of an inside of a vase either..wat a whole new world of posibilities.. with the sss its almost like being inside an organism!

Sorry guys, it's just a workaround; no real caustics in there.
What is worse, it's way too far from being (looking) perfect :cry:
And yes, the last one has been done strictly within the Studio using plane and bump map; no displacement or modeling.

Here is a little comp had to do for a test on a project.. Like "knurrebusk" wasrambeling on crazy about how sun and ibl cant be used together.. the solution for me is pretty fast and fun.. just do a ibl + sun render and compiste them.. even would work in animation (and not double time as my sun only scene clears way faster.. and dont need as high sample level since it only is applied in "lighten" overlay mode in Photoshop/aftereffects:

If this can be used with multilight I´m silenced for ever, then the very bad yellow dots that plague my newer scene that use sun/interior/undewater lightning with 150+ lightsourses speed up.

It was looking so promising until I introdused direct sunlight :(, so I´m gonna try to fake it like I do in Mental.

This is very much the stuff I´m thinking of large scale, Human Eye can see a tiny window if you imagine this is a building.
But even Tom can´t make MR show me a 3x1m curtainwall detail if this was a 50m high structure, or prove me wrong please ;)

I´m already more or less sold on ver 2 for multilight if I can fake sunlight, it´s faster then Mental if you need tons of images with many lights interior/exterior without/with green/blue etc I bend over, but I can´t make the sun shine without dots aggr!

Know the demo is limited, but I even tried with 150 identical ies lights, the beauty of layered coating etc is 3 days away on a 8 core.

with this higlighted area , it looks like crawles on on column in very unusal way, is there something like AGS ?

Hi Tom,

i want to ask question about stacked layers. I thougt that opacity of each layer is controleed by layer properties - i mean, that if there is varnish on the top of wood surface, there is no need to control transparency of layer - because varnish is transparent - but when i tried, it is not working that way. Also i thought, that every layer could have its own displacement, like bump, so you can control for example thickness of varnish. Am i missing something, or there is that limitations of current stacked layers system.
