The deletion of displacement or SSS doesn't seem to work properly as it is not taken into account.
Yet, once these deletions are done, cloning the material makes a material which behaves as expected.

Hi again Jeremy,

Since you seem to be around :) could you tell me which direction is considered "positive" in the scene rotation angle (clockwise or anti-clockwise) ?

Thanks !

If you are looking down at the scene, a positive scene rotation will cause the environment to rotate clockwise. For future reference, you can check this visually by toggling-on the 'Show Sun in Viewport' switch in the Scene Manager > Location & Time toolbar - the sun light in the Rhino viewport will move as you adjust scene rotation.

Oh ! So that is equivalent to the scene rotating counter-clockwise....
I think this could be more user-friendly with some kind of little sketch-like dial :
I imagine a rotating "North" arrow on top of an image representing a scene in top view.
Then, there is no more question about what is a "positive" rotation.
After all, depending on which field you consider, a positive rotation isn't always the same thing...

What do you think ?

Are you thinking of something like the sun position indicator in Studio? I hadn't thought about it much, due to the plugin's interactive sun display...especially with V5's real time shadow display mode, it's pretty much a wysiwyg situation. That being the case, do you think an indicator would really be a necessary addition, or would it just be another switch for people to learn? Let me know what you think.

I personally would like very much the option to toggle a noth arrow indicator like in Studio...I really messed up a client presentation not long ago because the scene rotated opposite of what I expected. It just gives us another means to assure we're "right on" besides the wysiwyg in Rhino 5.

Jeremy,

I think the wysiwyg is fine but still requires some thinking / verifying, whereas the North arrow is pretty straight forward.
This arrow comes with most architect drawings I use as work base, but I have no idea what "should" be the proper sun orientation in Adelaïde on the 5th of March at 3 P.M.

See what I mean ?

Cheers,
