One thing you should aways keep in mind with polished metal is that you don't see the metal, only what it reflects. From your images above you can see that the big light blurs bring life to the parts.

I have attached 3 images: my scene setup, a trade secret of mine, and the texture for the light panels

I just purchased Maxwell and was reading through the forum for how to render jewelry. The link to the texture for the light panels has gone dead. Could someone repost it?
