caryjames wrote:I'll say it again- "Slow" or not Maxwell is the best! Waiting a couple of hours or a day for professional images that often require no post-work and can be used in advertising etc should not be the end of the world. How long would it take to hire a professional photographer, rent a studio, take the pics and apply postwork to take images of your product?

Yes, some of the other rendering packages are faster but the images for the general user are NOWHERE close to what Maxwell produces. Every time I look at one of these renders I always think "nice computer generated image" every time I look at a Maxwell image I always think "nice photo, or nice shot".

Shouldn't we distinguish ourselves from the other rendering packages? If we produce an image in a few minutes can you convince your client that an immense amount of work/knowledge went into that image and can we charge appropriately? Faster is nice but it also brings up some interesting questions... at least for me :).

Just my 0.02 cents of course!
Cary

I second that notion

Looked again today - still no updates on new features to be included in V2.

Funny how the guys soon to release THEA Render (unbiased) have taken a similar opportunity to let users know what is in the release one bit at a time are ensuring they post one feature a week (upcoming release only announced a week ago - two feature announcements already) and the actual guy developing it is responding to each question on the forum personally.

c'mon mate. please be easy.
There are great difference between MR and Thea at the current state.
Thea render is at their initial state so they have to hurry up to show their features asap.
Do you know how many years takes from vray 1.47 to 1.5 ?
