I agree, I still remember the feeling when I made my first Maxwell renderings - it was magic, like painting with light!

Well for me it's been:
Aargh! too damn slow, but looking good...bitch, moan, mumble grumble.
Hmmm, that's really nice...but too slow, bitch, moan, mumble grumble.
Don't know my ass from page 12 with this thing but it sure looks good, too slow though...moan, mumble grumble.
Got a job, where do I go...Maxwell...but it's slow...mumble, grumble.
Got a job...Maxwell...it's slow...so?

I use Maxwell because of the quality...any improvements in any areas I welcome and appreciate.

Love Ya All,
Ron

Does anyone else find themselves staring at the screen while it's rendering...? It's like medusa has me in her stare

i recently saw the movie "into the wild"

since then i am coming back to reality and i know there's more important things in life than waiting for better stuff to come.

we should try and live more in the moment, rather than using the question-gatling over and over before each release of maxwell...

looking forward to it, but the more i don't know about, the better the feeling will be when i hold the package in hands. it's like knowing what's inside the present before opening it @ birthday ...

living in the moment is what triggers concerns for the future in many cases. I can imagine company owners wanting to plan out a strategy mildly based around whatever information they can get, before software which they know has immense potential is released. But then again I totally understand the need for tight lipped activity to protect ideas (which is why NL have planned periodic releases of info on the actual software). I think cost is something so withdrawn from that equation though. If something costs something, then it costs that price, and if you like the product enough then you'll pay what you need to if you think its worth it.
When you buy something for yourself it's much more financially grounding to know what your getting unfortunately lol

Sean Penn did a great job with that movie by the way :)

Maxwell is no toy Max ...

Outside of this forum, meaning images that never get seen or publicized here -----Maxwell is hard at work. As if I need to mention that....

I give you this benign anecdote ...
This happened the other day, ..I'm walking through a Lowes (the Other Home Depot), ..and what do I see ? Airless sprayers in boxes stacked to the ceiling with giant full color renders on the side --- all Maxwell images, ..all done by Eric Lagman. How do I know? Because we rendered them on my machine way back when I was renting it... (they look great Eric!)

Obviously that is one of thousands and thousands of instances where Maxwell is directly intersecting the public, albeit silently in most cases.

My ultimate point is, ..don't even hint at the argument that MW is considered a novelty toy. Considered by who ? You?

Now everybody just go back to silently watching their renders. You'll all be kind of sad when that gets taken away with MW 3.0's real-time engine. What will you do ..... ? LOLOL.
