Hi,
I'm new posting on this forum.
I'm an enthusiast Maxwell user and I would like to share some images from my past works.
A few of them are just images as they didn't develop into actual product while most of them depict real things.

I Use Rhinoceros V4 with the integrated Maxwell Render plugin.
I didn't spend so much time developing my personal skills in rendering with Maxwell, however I was able to make some decent stills of my concepts, good enough to represent my ideas and to show them to the customers.

I'll greatly appreciate your comments and critics, I need to improve my rendering skills and the quality of my pictures.

I really love those materials on the helicopter!
Great gallery. But you should post larger images, or at least your favourites in big! Those small thumbnails don't do justice to the great renderings, and I'm too lazy to open all of them :D

Thank You for your kind words.
I'm really happy to hear that you like the images, and I'm proud that you like my designs.
About the renderings, as I previously wrote, I'm also pretty lazy now - not a young wiz any more ... :-) - thus I didn't spend so much time on very accurate settings. That's why I love Maxwell so much, it grants reliable and satisfying results even from basic setups.

I purchased Maxwell Render as it came out on the market but at that time it was pretty slow on my machines. But this forum and the gallery served amazinlgly well by keeping my interest awaken and stimulating my curiosity and will.

I stared and admired the presented images of some historical users, and I was really fascinated by several galleries. I studied every sigle detail of them for a long time, but didn't find time and will to emulate by myself.

Now, the latest - more efficient - releases and a powerful enough hardware allow me to enjoy again on rendering just as much as I did when - much younger - I spent whole nights and days (more nights ...) on a 486 and 3D Studio V4 on a DOS machine.
I will post some images of those roaring years, just to celebrate.

However, now I'm more on the "results" side, and my time is more precious than it was before, thus I could not afford spending whole days looking for the hole Graal of rendering.
And Maxwell is giving me the unique capability of "shooting" the good pictures of my ideas, with a quick scene setup and a precious stock of stunning materials almost ready to use, or to mix and adapt to my needs.

What's really nice it that it gives me the joy of playing with lights more than simulating the right surface effect. That's its job, not mine.
I concentrate on design and how to enhance the visibility of the shapes I need to show. That's all I need and that's what I get.

Almost all the images here came out from a pretty basic setup and a 120min/25 samples rendering time.

Now, since I'm like a greedy bear and I smelled the sweet taste of honey, I feel I'm motivated enough to dedicate some more time to a deeper investigation of Maxwell's potentials, learning to handle the technique a little better.

That's why I posted the images here, I'm not interested in celebrating but I'm very thirsty of critiques and comments and I'll be very glad to hear and read all your comments and suggestions.
This forum is a valuable resource and very helpful and it's populated by a lot of exceptionally tealented and skilled artists.

Thanks for your kind support, I greatly appreciate.

Later I'll post some bigger images her, as requested.

OK, then let's start with correcting the speculars of plastics/shiny paints. For example, the bottom parts of those seats have a non-realistic shininess. It should be because of high Nd and/or reflectance in their specular BSDF. I suggest you to use a mild common fresnel. If you put the material settings here, I can suggest something better. On the other hand, I have no words about heli12.jpg. A real photo wouldn't be better...

I'm attaching here a couple of images from the same RC Helicopter set.
This is a job in progress for ElyQ Srl, an italian RC Hely manufacturer.
They recently entered the market with a very successful size 50 model: Vision 50 ultimate. This is the preliminary rendering of the new incoming model, the Vision 50 competition, sporting a carbon frame.

I also designed the canopies.

The above image will serve as the cover page to the "upgrade and spare parts" section of the official web site.

Hi Tom,
thank You for the suggestion. Unfortunately I didn't have time to try that due to very tight job scheduling. I'll take some time for testing those settings and will post the results.

Hi Maximus, thank You for the compliments. Which materials would you have changed ? I'm here to listen and learn from your critiques. Thanks for your help.

Great renders again! But, the aliasing on the first image is very annoying. How did that happen? Improper removal of bkg?

Yes Tom, you're right. It was due to a poor quality alpha-channel image.
I will re-launch the rendering to produce a good aplha and will remove the background again.
I needed the preview and didn't have time for a good alpha (which I rendered separately).

Sharp eyes uh ?!

Thanks
